Beeline and World Vision Armenia have launched the Safe Internet program, one of the main components of which is to raise awareness of children, parents and teachers on the Internet, mobile phones and other modern IT communications.
Updated information with the help of Beeline (Secure Internet Handbook for Children, Safe Internet Guidelines for Parents and Teachers) is available for 600 beneficiary children, 90 parents and 30 teachers. Within the framework of the project, experienced specialists are involved in trainings for children aged 11-14 in Yerevan, Talin and Kapan.
“Let’s keep children home” is a joint project by Ucom Foundation and World Vision Armenia. The project provides socially vulnerable families with means and tools, which allow them to get a source of income and improve financial stability. This enables them to raise their children at home, instead of sending them to an institution due to economic difficulties.
The funds for the project come from SMS donations from Ucom customers (200 or 500 AMD), and every month Ucom Foundation matches the amount raised.
The project provides classes on PicsArt, the most popular drawing and photo-editing application, to children and youth at the art school in Aparan and art club in Kuchak community. More than 50 teenagers have a chance to express and develop their creativity by using modern tools of image editing and graphic design.
With the funding provided by PicsArt, 29 tablets were donated to the two schools. The classes are facilitated by the art school teachers, specially trained by PicsArt. Guest lecturers from the company regularly visit the schools, providing further guidance and support to the teachers and students.
The project activities also include group visits to PicsArt office in Yerevan, organization of exhibitions, Participation in online contests and other activities.
A mini football field was built in Tsovak community of Gegharkunik region. It serves more than 1000 children from Tsovak and five neighbouring villages.
The funds for this project were raised during the walkathon initiated by World Vision Armenia in partnership with the German Embassy in Yerevan.
The project provided free dental check-ups, treatment, and oral health education to 1-6 graders in two schools in Aragats community. The funding was generated through monthly contributions of HSBC Bank Armenia staff and was matched by WV Armenia.
The children also received toothbrush and toothpaste sets- the gifts donated by ESTING and ASOGHIK companies.
Thanks to the CRONIMET Charity Foundation, in 2012 and 2013, 602 vulnerable children from Gegharkunik, Shirak, Syunik and Lori marzes enjoyed World Vision’s Summer Camps.
The Boryan Brothers museum and Cultural Center reopened in Tchambarak after years of neglect with the funds provided by CRONIMET Charity Foundation and matched by World Vision.
1,500 children and youth from Tchambarak area benefit from the Museum’s exhibitions and attend the project art clubs.
New medical equipment was provided to healthcare facilities in Aragatsotn and Gegharkunik marzes, thanks to the partnership of World Vision Armenia with Monitis Armenia. Monthly donations from Monitis and its staff provided funding for the project aimed at enhancement of medical services in the regions of Armenia.
All the children in six rural communities in Tchambarak region benefit from the modern weight and height meters donated to the local health posts. The Talin maternity hospital received an electronic fetal monitor, which takes care of the antenatal health of the babies born there.
Twenty-eight children from the villages of Berqaber, Barekamavan and Sevkar in Tavush marz received brand new schoolbags and stationery donated by the staff of INGO Armenia, OGMA Applications, as well as individuals, who learned about this charitable opportunity through our Facebook page. The cross-border fire in the summer of 2014 had a negative impact on the economic state of many families in Tavush. Many parents couldn’t afford new school supplies for their children; therefore WV Armenia encouraged people to give a gift of school supplies for the upcoming school year.
The schoolbags were purchased through World Vision Armenia's Gift Catalog and were donated to children from the most vulnerable families and children with disabilities.
The INGO Armenia and OGMA Applications staff also prepared greeting cards for the children, wishing them a successful academic year.
20 children regularly attend the Youth Robotics Club in a school in Aparan. The project funds were generated through monthly donations of Monitis GFI and its staff and were matched by World Vision Armenia.
Youth Robotics Clubs and similar projects can play a role in creating serious potential in Information Technologies in the regions of Armenia. Thus, capable youth will have the access to be engaged in web design, programming, animation, and robotics engineering.
“Let’s keep children home” project started in 2012, as a joint initiative of Orange Foundation and World Vision Armenia. The project provided socially vulnerable families with means and tools, which allowed them to get a source of income, improve financial stability and bring back home their children, who were earlier placed in a boarding school or another state-run institution due to economic difficulties.
The funds for the project came from SMS donations from Orange customers (100 or 500 AMD), and every month Orange foundation matched the amount raised. In 2014, additional funds for the project were raised by Orange Armenia during the charity auction, where the best 11 numbers from the new 041 range were sold.
Until March 2016, 90 children benefited from this project and were reunited with their families.
